Hi guys Swifty El here again, if you saw my last post (http://ukanifest.co.uk/news/2013/10/1/agents-of-shield) you would understand that i love anything comic book related, hence why i am covering Marvel again...
I loved this episode I thought it was gripping from the start its amazing that the writers can fit a huge amount of detail in a 40min episode, for me the acting I still found very amateurish not sure I buy the character Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) he lacked the hard man secret agent type he is to much of a pretty boy I feel, I understand with such a young cast it will be difficult but it can be done look at the success of DC Comics tv series ARROW it was very successful season 1 and cant wait for season 2 begins next week, Stephen Amell is a young actor as well but sells his character greatly I suggest Brett Dalton needs to take a few pages from Stephen book to pull of that dark secret agent hard man image that he needs.
A more entertaining episode this week than the original Pilot episode, this episode came away from the superhero aspect and came forward with the other missions the secret organization gets up to. With references towards Captain America, Thor and the second world war. (this is where you may need to remember your history/background of Captain America: The First Avenger Movie)
You may be wondering as to why the second world war mentioned well that’s the era in which Captain America became a Super Soldier and he had to defeat the terrorist organization HYDRA who was using the technology from the Tesseract which was found by Johann Schmidt aka THE RED SKULL (German SS officer and leader of HYDRA) to create a Very powerful weapon. And try to use the weapon to conquer Europe with the Nazi’s during WW2
The same Technology was found in Peru as some sort of weapon and subject of much attention by both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Peruvian authorities. During which agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) is reunited with an old flame Camilla Reyes (Leonor Varela Blade2), a woman from Coulson's past (supposedly worked together). Reyes turns out she has other plans for the weapon.
This episode also has a sub story to it, Skye (Chloe Bennet Nashville) a computer hacker and now S.H.I.E.L.D.S newest recruit is trying to figure out her place with in the team but looks as though she might have something to hide, Plot Thickens Hmmmm.
And at the end has a surprising cameo appearance from a certain Hollywood A-lister you will have to watch to see who it is…
I feel this program is moving in leaps and bounds I love the fact they are keeping the movies still fresh in our minds yet pushing new grounds with interacting them both.
