Digimon gaming fans have had it rough. It’s been years since they got a Digimon game that was actually released outside of Japan but instead of getting their hands on titles like Digimon World Re:Digitize, they got a new title.

For the newer generation of gamers 'Digimon' is a Japanese media franchise starting off as a anime competing against the likes of Pokemon with virtual pet-fighting toys,  manga, video games, films and a trading card game. These monsters inhabit a "Digital World",  communication through networks. Digimon are raised by humans called "Digidestined" or "Tamers", and they team up to defeat evil Digimon who intend  to destroy the fabric of the Digital world.

This Digimon game would not be a localization but instead a title currently exclusive to the west. A spiritual successor to the Digimon Rumble Arena series, All-Star Rumble is looking to revitalize the series.

bored digimon allstar

The Story Mode in Digimon All-Star Rumble follows the Digimon of your choice out of a selection of basic Digimonwho are bored with life and decide to enter a tournament. Life is peacful, far too peaceful and they have an itch to fight enemies to Digivolve. The Digimon came up with the concept of hosting a Digimon Evolution Tournament for the purpose of Digivolving and to see who is the strongest!

In the story you’ll be walking around various levels like an RPG talk to Digimon to initiate battles, fight random monsters. Any Digimon you beat successfully will now be unlocked and playable. The main Digimon will be near a save point and then upon defeating unlocks the gate to the next chapter. The story mode is virtually the same for each character, they just have different fighting styles. Digivolve by pressing both L1 and R1.

You can make your Digimon stronger in battle by equipping DigiCards, which have special abilities that add attack, defense, health, EP, SP and more. You get given some after battles or find them in chests in the game or purchase them in Collection Mode. The card with highest attributes out of you and the competitor wins and they get the boost in battles.

In half an hour I managed to get to chapter 10 very easily so this game is great for young gamers and has great 3D polished graphics for us retro gamers to appreciate. You can head over to training mode to practice Digimon’s moves and check out the gorgeous interactive backgrounds.

Test your new cards and combos in Battle Mode where you can play with up to four players. This is a great alternative to Super Smash Bros and you can have more friendly competition to grab items.

The game’s music, made me nostalgic of the anime, it's spot on up beat temp keeps things moving along fast through the levels - keeping the storymode entertaining.

This game is great for first time gamers 10+ it also pays a nice homage to the Digimon History without you needing much background. You can pick this game up and play and I think would be mostly appreciated for the multiplayer facility. Which is perfect for the price too!

Welcome to the Ai My Maid cafe experience! 6 months after the previous event they have set up at the beautiful restaurant Shimagamo located in Camden Town. Serving up authentic Japanese cuisine and beer. Read up about the past Ai My Maid events here.

Being in a posh restaurant did not affect the maid experience in anyway, both slots were sold out and had in total 10 maids! This ensured all customers were served and played with accordingly.  People had the chance to purchase or win game plays, chekkie.

The theme was Smash due to the resent release of the game on Wii U - customers were welcome to bring 3DS's for battles and extra controllers on the bigger consoles. It was 50p per game/battle. They also had an array of board games to choose from including pastime Jenga and connect 4.

The raffle also included plushies, games and amazon vouchers which lucky lady Rena won. All in all people came to hang out with friends and  indulge in some maid antics with such great personalities such as Maid Emi Chiriko the resident gamer maid ready to beat you on almost every game imaginable.

The chekki's were particularly popular with one enthusiast who purchased over 10 with all the maids and individuals, Top, said that it was his first time and had so much fun he needed to have souvenirs. Everyone left happy and excited for the next event. Find more photos here.
