MCM Expo London is one of the largest Comic Con's in the country. Here you can indulge in comics, anime,  sci fi, plushies, card games,  signed memorabilia,  celebrity signings, cosplay meetups and more.

This year see's the biggest influx of kawaii  influence. The Pop Asia stage featured lots of youTube  sensations including: Kelsey Kimono time, Scarlett Young  (Hyper Japan's Kawaii Star ambassador), HIMEZAWA, Cinnomom Purin, Harajuku Fashion show and a large number of kawaii stalls.

One of the highlights is seeing YouTube performer sing her new song released on iTune 'Pom Pom' which endorsements and a cameo from Becki Cruel in the music video, this young lady will be hitting it big soon.

Also  the Harajuku x Fashion show with the galaxy theme was quite a hit. All the ladies involved (including myself  stood onstage in a lineup grouped in various style.

After many updates online for MCM expo Midlands in February featuring voice actor Vic Mignogna (voice of Edward Elrich from Full Metal Alchemist), Hannah Spearritt (S CLub 7) and Danny John Jules (Kat from Red Dwarf, we were revved up for MCM Expo London. Mcm Expo Ireland did not disappoint either with voice actor Byrce Pepenbrook (VO for Eren from Attack on Titan, Maile Flanagan (VO for Naruto) and Danny John Jules again. Still we were awaiting for the guest line up for London.

The turnout has broken the record of over 10,000 attendees, the organisers planned a head for this and split the event into two rooms accommodating everyone and giving enough space for chill out and eating areas.

We also had Honda smack bang in the middle showcasing their newest model of motorcycle. This was not a dummy model, this was real. You could even use the oculus rift to get the full experience. The best part was this model was based on the bike from the anime Akira so we had a lot of fans talking to the engineer and designer about it.

True to tradition, we we started getting tricles of information of guests. One of the real exciting last minute editions were the Director and producer of the anime Blue Excorcist. The anime was a roaring success in the Uk and recently releasing in the Uk.

We had the infamous photo challenges at various stalls including a new adidtion of the CEX tentacle toilet throne where you sit or stand and add an entertaining caption and the top three photos with the most likes get CEX vouchers.

There was also the packed out Bandai Namco panel with Hideo Baba (creator of Tales of Series) alongside Interview with Kazutoki Kono director of Ace Combat infinity,. Baba San revealed information on the new dark Takes of Xillia 2 and Tales of Hearts R while Kono san explained Ace Combat was free to download and great to enjoy online with friends. They even had quizes with exclusive Japan only prizes for people who answered questions correctly. Also a twitter based Q&A.

I also participated in the Harajuku Fashion show on the Pop Asia stage, this years theme was 'galaxies' so we had some added sparkle to our outfits be it related to clouds, stars, space, planets, metalic colours etc. The tournout was massive and was nice to be part of the showcase.

Other energetic performances on the Pop Asia stage included Himezawa, Scarlet Young, Cinnomon Purin, Milk Tea cafe and Kelsey Kimono Time all involving choreographed dances and kawaii outfits.

To rival the guest of Kat from Red Dwarf we had Kryten actor Robert Llewellyn, who was almost unrecognisable without his squarish makeup. It was great to see a lot of soap actors as part of memorabilia like Alfie Moon, Nina Wadia, Nasty Nick from Eastenders.

wendee lee mcm 14

For the voice actors section which i adore, MCM brought us a great selection of Wendee Lee (VO of Faye from Cowboy Bebop, Lucky Star and countless more character), Phil Lemar (Vo of Hermes from Futurama, Samurai Jack and more characters) and Greg Cipes (VO of Beast Boy from Teen Titans and more. All you had to do was purchase a copy of the latest MYM beforehand or at the MYM stall to get a signature from each Voice Actor. Sadly Ms. Lee had a family emergency the night before which cut her appearance short but she kindly came to the Q&A and a signing slot as to not dissapoint the fans, Thank you Wendee! Phil Lemar took great joy in signing rare Samurai Jack figures and Phil Lemar did lots of impressions before singing on stage for his panel.

Amongst that we had lots of great stalls here are my random three:

Wikedwigs

My savours of MCM, when my wig cap ripped and I went running there and begged them to borrow a wig cap, these guys not only gave me it with a smile but it was quite a high quality cap too, not one of those itchy ones. They are a wig company based actually travelled from the Netherlands, formerly known as Hairs4u2.

They sell kanekalon wigs, the best synthetic wigs on the market. If you want a private fitting, you are more than welcome to pop into the shop. They also sell wigcare, wigstands, wigcaps, funlenses, scarecrow fangs, custom made wigs, custom made items.

Beastly Beverages

dr who tea

Beastly Beverages is a small business based in sunny Brighton. Where they combine a love of tea with fandom and a generous dash of geekery, to bring you unique blends. Their tea is homemade and takes roughly a week to make custom blends. All have a unique art per lavour whether it be Harry Potter themed or My Little Pony. Without a doubt the most unique stall I found at MCM May 2014.
